MSC: Any declaration that is inconsistent will be fined $15,000/box!
A few days ago, mediterranean shipping company MSC announced that the number of accidents involving the transportation of dangerous goods had increased, and reiterated that the consignor should correctly declare the complete information of dangerous goods at the time of booking, and bear the corresponding legal responsibilities and obligations. Any discrepancy between the Bill of Lading/Bill of Lading sample and the submitted dangerous goods declaration information will result in the false declaration fee of dangerous goods. MSC will charge USD 15,000/case for false declaration of dangerous goods.

Notice of reiterating the false declaration fee for dangerous goods Dear customer, Recently, accidents involving the transportation of dangerous goods have increased, and many accidents are accompanied by casualties or total loss of goods. Therefore, it is necessary for us to reiterate that the consignor should correctly declare the complete information of dangerous goods when booking shipping space , and bear the corresponding legal responsibilities and obligations. Again, we will charge USD 15,000/case for false declaration of dangerous goods in case of the following circumstances ( this fee has been effective since 2019):
The declaration of dangerous goods must be carried out at the booking stage and approved by the shipping company. Any discrepancy between the bill of lading/sample of bill of lading and the submitted declaration information of dangerous goods will result in the false declaration fee of dangerous goods. This fee will not limit other fines or fees caused by false declaration in any way, and will be borne by the shipper. Please refer to the following situations ( including but not limited to ), which will be regarded as "false declaration": misstatement or omission of dangerous goods classification and product name number ; Wrong name of goods ; False flash point ( more than plus or minus 5 degrees Celsius ) ; Misreporting the packaging category ( which affects the loading category ) ; Wrong packaging or use of packaging that does not meet IMO standards ; Misloading or dividing the goods in the container. If the containers declared as non-dangerous goods are found to be dangerous goods after leaving Hong Kong , the false declaration fee of dangerous goods will be incurred . This fee will not in any way limit other fines or fees caused by false reports, and shall be borne by the shipper. Taking this opportunity , we sincerely thank you for your support as always .
