June 6(th)，a container ship full of Chinese goods caught fire!

On June 6th, a fire broke out in the cargo hold of a container ship named "SL TWEETY" with a capacity of 2490TEU. At the time of the incident, the ship left Mersin, Turkey, in the eastern Mediterranean, and was on its way to Kumport, Turkey, in Mal Malakhei.

According to reports, the fire was put out or controlled by the crew, and the "SL TWEETY" had to interrupt its voyage and anchor at the anchorage of Mersin to ask for assistance.

Up to now (June 8th), the ship is still at anchor, but there are no tugboats or rescue boats nearby, so the fire may have been put out. Most likely,there will be a fire in or inside the container, and some containers and goods will be damaged.

Container ship "SL TWEETY", with a capacity of 2490TEU, was built in 2003, flying the flag of Liberia. The ship arrived in Mersing from China on May 5th. According to its schedule data, from May 5th to 6th, the ship was anchored at Ningbo Port; May 8 -9, anchored in Nansha Port.
